NHS Hounslow is one of the 31 London Primary Care Trusts. The objective of NHS Hounslow is to raise the quality and access to healthcare for Hounslow in order to improve health outcomes. It has to constantly identify where developments need to occur, how much resource needs to be assigned to that task and predict the outcomes of the interventions. For these reasons NHS Hounslow is engaging in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme with the Health and Social Care Modelling Group (HSCMG) of the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Westminster. The HSCMG is an interdisciplinary group (clinicians, operational researchers, statisticians, and information technologists) with research focus on developing models and decision support tools to compare, contrast, evaluate, plan and optimise healthcare services. This partnership seeks to recruit TWO highly qualified graduates for two years to develop and embed systems, tools and techniques which manipulate data currently stored in silos that will identify bottlenecks and service pressures. It will provide a strong evidence base for senior decision makers (across several public sector organisations in Hounslow) to prioritise and predict outcomes more accurately. In conclusion, it will reduce the financial risks of service changes by providing more robust estimates of likely outcomes. As a successful candidate, you will have with a good first degree in a quantitative or computing subject preferably complemented by a good post-graduate degree in a relevant subject.
