  1. Cittie of Yorke Pub. High Holborn. Near Junction of High Holborn and Chancery Lane. An old ‘Dickensian’ pub. Does a wide range of drinks and food. A must for visitors to London.
  2. North Sea Fish Restaurant. Leigh Street. Fish & Chip Restaurant – better than most. Also does take away.
  3. Indian restaurant 3 doors from the fish & chips in Leigh Street. Good food.
  4. The Lamb pub. Lamb’s Conduit Street. Popular local pub. Atmospheric with lots of dark wood. Does food.
  5. Italian restaurant next door to the Lamb is good.
  6. The Rugby pub. Rugby Street behind Lamb’s Conduit Street. Modern pub – friendly – does food.
  7. The Brunswick. Shopping Centre near Russell Square. Nice shops, cafes and restaurants, notably
    - Carluccio’s Italian Restaurant
    - Yo Sushi
    - Hare & Tortoise: Chinese restaurant with an unusual menu. Very good value.
  8. The Calthorpe pub. Grays Inn Road. Good range of English bitters and pub grub
  9. Isola Bella Italian Restaurant. Red Lion Street.
  10. Coram Foundation Museum café is good for lunch and snacks. Also serves wine. (day time only).
  11. Princess Louise pub. High Holborn. Near Holborn station. Another old pub with lots of wood and glass fittings. Very attractive and traditional.
