A. Learning plan

 

There are many different approaches for learning. It is generally accepted that no single approach works for everyone. Also, learners may use different approach for different tasks. You can either use a holistic or a serial approach.

Holistic approach

Holistic learners consider the overall picture of a task and gradually fill the details.

Serial approach

Serialist learners concentrate on one aspect at a time.

Whatever your approach is you must have a learning plan. A learning plan is a kind of map that will show how you will achieve your goal (learning output).

It happens often that we want to do a task (e.g. to paint a room) we start very enthusiastic and after a while we stop and we fell very disappointed. This usually happens because people do not have a plan.

In the research we carried out at UoW, it seems that 80% of the students who took part agree that having a plan is a necessary step of success. 66% (of the previous 80%) say that they usually make a plan and 90% (of the previous 80%) of them follow their plan (at least at the main points).
